GO-NOW Purpose

Greater Orlando NOW’s (GO-NOW's) purpose is to act through intersectional grassroots activism to advance feminist ideals, lead societal change, eliminate discrimination, and achieve and protect the equal rights of all people.  We focus on issues affecting primarily women and girls in all aspects of social, political, and economic life. We should all be feminists!

Our chapter 's goals are to implement this purpose through community outreach and partnership with other organizations that support women's equality and advancement.  We strive to collaborate with organizations and complete projects that serve all women  in our community and others in our that may feel unrecognized and underserved.  We also support local  feminist candidates aligned with our mission.

Finally, we participate in county commission and school board meetings to advocate for community initiatives that support women and their families.  We advocate for things such as fair housing prices, supporting the unhoused and their children, recognition and solution brainstorming to combat the high cost of being a woman, equal pay for equal work, and supporting victims of domestic violence to name a few.

NOW ISSUES AND ACTIONS

2025 has been a busy year for GO-NOW!  We have fundraised, participated in multiple No Kings protests, lobbied in Tallahassee during legislative session, attended the FL-NOW annual conference in Orlando, celebrated National Women's Day, supported Pride in Orlando and Apopka, and so much more!  Join us in the fight for women's and human rights, the fight against fascism, and in supporting our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters!
