Greater Orlando NOW's mission is to be involved in helping to keep abortion legal, eliminate spouse abuse, job and wage discrimination, rape, sexism, racism, discrimination due to sexual orientation, disability or age.
We reinforce equality and educational opportunities, and demand choice for abortion and birth control (NO PERSON CAN BE BOTH ANTI-CHOICE AND A FEMINIST). We monitor the legislatures and Congress. We call attention to women's issues and accomplishments in the past and present, and will continue to do that in the future. We see healthcare as a human right, support criminal justice overhaul, fine and fees reform, and more.
We voice our opinions and expect respect as we speak out.
We are involved with National, State and local issues. We strike to demand legal abortions. We protest for affordable housing since it is such a problem in Orlando. We support actions on climate change. We will likely be involved in demanding pandemic preparedness after we are through this initial Corona Virus, COVID 19, crisis. There is something for everyone. If it is important to you, it's important to us. We can't act on our expansive issues without our partners and the Chapter.
SEE NOW ISSUES
Greater Orlando NOW’s (GO-NOW's) purpose is to act through intersectional grassroots activism to advance feminist ideals, lead societal change, eliminate discrimination, and achieve and protect the equal rights of all people, especially women and girls, in all aspects of social, political, and economic life. We should all be feminists.
The Greater Orlando Chapter recognizes that Climate Change is an existential threat, an emergency requiring immediate action and worldwide collaboration. A key GO-NOW purpose is to support action on the Climate Crisis. Now, people's pandemic needs have become a priority as well. Pandemic preparedness now will be a new purpose because it impacts women and girls, and the disadvantaged the most. Our purpose includes healthcare for all, criminal justice overhaul, fines and fees action, and more.
